Holiday Club Crew - 11-25 year olds

Every summer, alongside our Holiday Clubs, we run Crew — a programme for older children and young people who want to be part of the action and have space that’s just for them.

In the mornings, Crew members help support our primary-age Holiday Clubs across Timperley Methodist Church, The Avenue, and Cornerstone Methodist Church — getting involved with games, crafts, drama, and all the joyful organised chaos that comes with them. It’s a chance to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and be part of something meaningful.

In the afternoons, Crew has its own programme of socials, activities, and trips: time to hang out, have fun, deepen friendships, and enjoy experiences designed especially for their age group. It’s a balance of giving back, growing together, and having a genuinely good summer.

Crew is open to everyone — you don’t need to be part of a church to join in — and we work hard to make sure it’s a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where young people feel valued and supported.

Stowaways - Y6

Stowaways is our group for young people who have just finished Year 6 and are ready for something a bit more grown-up. It’s a gentle step into Crew, designed to build confidence and help them discover what they enjoy and what they’re good at.

In the mornings, Stowaways take part in young leadership training and support Holiday Club in different ways each day — from helping with activities and games to supporting leaders behind the scenes. This gives them a chance to try out different roles, learn new skills, and get a feel for how they like to help.

In the afternoons, they join the wider Crew programme for socials, activities, and trips, spending time with older young people, making friends, and enjoying all the fun of summer together. Stowaways is supportive, encouraging, and designed to help young people grow in confidence while still having a brilliant time.

2026 Club Details

Week A: South Trafford
Timperley Methodist Church, Stockport Road, WA15 7UG
Monday 27th - Friday 31st July 2026

Heroes in Training is a holiday club for kids who’ve ever tied a tea towel round their shoulders and jumped off the sofa.
We’ll spend the week on messy missions, ridiculous challenges, crafts, games and drama as we figure out what real heroes look like in everyday life. Spoiler: it’s less flying and laser eyes, more courage, kindness, standing up for people and working as a team.
There’s plenty of noise, creativity and chances to burn off energy, plus some space to think about the kind of world we want to build together.

Week B: Sale
The Avenue Methodist Church, Wincham Rd, Sale M33 4PL
Monday 17th - Friday 21st August 2026

Star Chasers is our space-themed holiday club for kids who love stories, silliness and anything to do with rockets and stars. For a whole week the hall will turn into mission control as we play fast, daft games, make brilliantly wonky space crafts, act out mini-adventures and sing the kind of songs that get stuck in your head on the drive home.

In the middle of all the fun there’ll be time to chill, make new friends and think about some of the “big” stuff too – what makes each of us special, how we can look out for each other, and what it means to shine in our own little corner of the world. You don’t need to know anything about church to come; if your child likes space, glitter or just having a laugh, they’ll fit right in.

Week C: Stretford and Urmston
Cornerstone Methodist Church, Hayeswater Rd, Urmston, Manchester M41 7PL
Wednesday 26th - Friday 28th August 2026

At Cornerstone we’ll be running a shorter “Heroes in Training” mini club – a condensed version of our full holiday club, with all the best bits squeezed into fewer days. Children will still get the chance to dive into games, crafts, drama and challenges, and to think about what real heroism looks like in everyday life (kindness, courage, looking out for others), just in a shorter format that fits the week. It’s ideal for children who can’t make a full five-day club, or for anyone who wants one last burst of holiday fun before term-time brain kicks back in. Same energy, same welcome, slightly less exhaustion.
