Children and Families Ministry
Have you got children that you would like to bring to church? Please see below the activities for our young people
Our aim is to make sure every child can be themselves in a safe and welcoming environment. Our children's workers are appointed through interview only, are DBS checked and have safeguarding training.
We want all to have great fun whilst learning more about Jesus and meeting with Him.
Children's worship on Sundays
Children are welcome at all of our Sunday services. However we also have some worship specifically designed for children and families:
1st Sunday of the month
Breakfast Church is a relaxed, once-a-month Sunday morning gathering where we share breakfast together, hear a short story, and enjoy simple crafts and activities. It’s informal, welcoming, and designed with families and children in mind — though everyone is very welcome. This is church done differently: unhurried, creative, and centred around being together. Come as you are, eat together, wonder together, and enjoy a gentler start to Sunday.
Cornerstone Methodist Church, 9.30am
Story Church is a relaxed, informal way of doing church together. We share a Bible story in an accessible way, enjoy simple crafts and activities, and sing a few songs along the way. It’s designed to be welcoming, creative, and interactive — especially for children and families, though everyone is welcome. Come as you are, join in as much or as little as you like, and explore faith through story, creativity, and community.
The Avenue, 10am
2nd Sunday of the Month
We regularly host a
joint parade service with The Boys' Brigade and Girls' Brigade, shared between
Sevenways Methodist Church and
Cornerstone Methodist Church. These services bring our uniformed organisations together to worship, celebrate their achievements, and take part in church life. Family-friendly and welcoming, parade services are a chance to see BB and GB in action and to share in a joyful, inclusive act of worship.

3rd Sunday of the Month
Messy Church is a fun, informal way of being church together. We explore a Bible theme through hands-on crafts and activities, share a short story, and sing together. It’s creative, noisy, welcoming, and very relaxed — especially for families and children, though everyone is welcome. There’s no pressure to know anything or do everything. Come as you are, get a bit messy, and enjoy exploring faith together
The Village, 10.45am
Also look out for Messy Church across the circuit during school holidays.
Lego Church is a relaxed, creative way of exploring faith using LEGO bricks. We share a short Bible story or theme, build together, and use creativity to help us reflect, wonder, and talk about big ideas in an accessible way. It’s informal, hands-on, and welcoming for all ages — especially great for families, children, and anyone who finds thinking best happens while hands are busy. Come and build, listen, and explore together.
Altrincham, 4pm-6pm

Groups for Young Children and Carers
Our toddler groups offer a friendly, relaxed space for babies, toddlers, and their grown-ups to play, connect, and feel welcome. With toys, songs, simple activities, and time to chat over refreshments, it’s a place to build friendships and enjoy time together in a supportive community. Everyone is welcome — come as you are, whether it’s your first visit or you’ve been before. All groups run during term time.

Tiny Praise is a monthly, relaxed church gathering especially for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers with their grown-ups. Through stories, songs, play, and simple crafts, we explore faith in a gentle, joyful way that’s perfect for little ones. It’s informal, welcoming, and designed with wriggles, noise, and curiosity in mind — and we finish by sharing lunch together. Come as you are and enjoy time, creativity, and community. Boys' and Girls' Brigades
The Girls' Brigade and The Boys' Brigade are long-established Christian youth organisations for children and young people. Through games, activities, badges, creativity, and shared experiences, they offer a fun and supportive space where young people can build confidence, friendships, and life skills while exploring faith in an age-appropriate way. We have spaces for girls aged 4+ and boys aged 5+.
Both groups are part of the life of the church and provide opportunities for children and young people to belong, grow, and be themselves in a safe, welcoming environment.

Holiday Clubs
Every summer our churches turn into places of organised chaos (the fun kind). We run holiday clubs for primary-age children at three sites across Trafford – Timperley in South Trafford, The Avenue in Sale, and Cornerstone in Urmston – giving kids a chance to play, create, make friends and explore big ideas in a relaxed, welcoming setting.
Each club has its own theme, but they all have the same heart: high-energy games, crafts that might just involve glitter, drama and stories, music, and moments of calm in between. You don’t have to be a church family to join in – everyone is welcome, and we work hard to make sure every child feels safe, included and valued.
